“Beginnings Are Hard,” She Said

I drew a tree and left it at Raspail. Today I had a record time of getting to class, somehow in less than twenty minutes. I don’t have a picture of this tree drawing, it was in a moment of instinct. I think I could slip drawings all in and around the metro trains and people would not notice. Their eyes are either closed, their noses in papers, staring at ipods or out the window. And then, I could walk out the door and small drawing would appear on seats, behind chairs, on floors, rustling in the metro air.
