An Ugly Painting At Last

“I painted something ugly
and I had to say it
because I am ashamed.
And I don’t want people
to see it and think I
don’t know or think
that I’m trying
to hide it.
I’m trying to own it
because the worst
is thinking you’re
pretty and then finding out from
someone that you’re not.
We are so afraid
of being ugly so we pretend
like it’s on purpose.
We make ugliness because we feel
Maybe we would make beauty if we felt

I liked this painting since the first time I saw it! I did not think it was ugly. I thought it was beautiful! I liked the mixed colors and drawings! It looked so full of life and movement to me!!
Wondering about what you said/painted: I think that when we do not hide things, we become beautiful. What was supposed to be ugliness becomes beauty, simply because we shared.
So, the ugliness is to hide ourselves from others. If we share and do not live only for ourselves selfishly, we are beautiful. It will turn into a beautiful thing simply because we gave ourselves to others! We were created to share and not to live inside ourselves. Thanks for sharing this painting and the blog and yourself – It’s a beautiful thing!

    • Thanks! I really like what you said “when we do not hide things, we become beautiful.” Something becomes beautiful just because we shared, that is so true! Thanks so much for your comment : )
